Young Student Makes a Huge Difference and You Can Too!

When Lily Savannah Chapnik decided to share her Bat Mitzvah monies with a needy student in Israel, she didn’t anticipate the amazing result her generosity would achieve and mitzvah of T’kun Olam.

In a recent letter written in Hebrew and translated to English. Adel Khatib attributed his excellent grades which led him to stand first in his class, to Lily’s generosity in providing him with a laptop computer through World ORT.

Due to an illness which prevents Adel from attending school, he was in urgent need of help in order to keep up with his studies. In addition to Adel’s thanking Lily from the bottom of his heart for “the great contribution”, he expressed his gratitude for “your warm heart and the love between nations no matter their colour, origin or sex.”

Lily and Adel have exchanged email addresses. They are looking forward to corresponding and learning about each other’s lives while building a new friendship.

Here is the translated text of Adel’s letter:

Thanks and appreciation.

First. I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your empathy and your reference to my health and socio-economic condition.

Then, we also want to thank you with all the love and respect great contribution that indicates your warm heart and the love between the nations no matter their color, origin or sex.

Due to your contribution I accomplished excellent grades and became the first in class.

For your "bat mitzvah" we wish you a long and healthy life filled with happiness and joy, love and success.
